Mastering the art and science of traffic generation requires that you understand two key components, Dynamics and Methodology.

Dynamics: there are many so called "marketers" and so called "companies" on the internet today that claim that all you have to do is sign up for their get rich quick program and you will be swimming in money tomorrow. This is a boldface lie which is called emotional impluse buy hype in the "lingo" of the rip off artists who are preying on the innocent and ignorant masses who come to the internet each day looking for a legitimate business to run from their PC in order to engage in true entrepreneurship on the web. You will do well to steer WELL clear of anything that claims BIG PROFITS FAST. The sooner we clear the internet of this type of scam the better. In truth, the REAL secret to effective internet marketing is realizing that the internet is all about information exchange. That is what it was created to do and that is what it does. If you approach people on that level and exchange useful information with them, you will gain them as associates who will consider anything else you may be trying to do with your information portal known as the internet. In this way you generate the most precious and sought after REAL product available online: a database of names and contact information associated with your particular presence on the web. This first step is really not that hard. The second step is to PERSONALIZE your contacts so that they become acquainted with you and eventually trust you. This second step takes actual work that you MUST do if you are going to make even one dollar online. It has been said that if you can make a single dollar online you can make a million. That is the essense of the dynamics of internet marketing just as it is the essence of any kind of marketing no matter where or what you happen to be trying to market. if anyone tries to tell you differently they are trying to "dumb you down" so they can rip you off.

Methodology:  now that you know what is REALLY going on (even the hypesters - that's what we call the Internet Pirates - are ALL doing these three basic steps without telling you about it) you can now move more safely into the difficult but NOT IMPOSSIBLE world of internet traffic generation. As you do so you will become acquainted with two main FREE methods to produce visitors to your site. The first is a whole community of exchange advertising bursting and bustling with folks just like you as well as the general populace looking for things to buy, trade or sell. This form of marketing is email marketing. Most of us have heard of unsolicited email and how RUDE it is. In fact MOST of us have had plenty of first hand experience at dealing with cleaning our inboxes of thousands of unsolicited emails selling us everything from a piece of the moon to wigs. The answer to this problem is the safelist. This form of marketing is solicited email marketing and only markets to those who have agreed to be marketed to. There are litterally millions of people who are members of a vast and growing community of opt-in/opt-out email recipients that you can interface with to talk to about your product or service. If you do your job right and come off as a REAL person interested in REALLY helping someone know about what it is that you do, then you can be making some serious money after you have learned the art of communication via email. This sums up the two main ways in which you can achieve recognition of your product or service online. The bottom line is that if you can come off as real and show others how to do this you will be a smashing success.
